Watch Reddit for what people really think about your competitors
A research agent that scans Reddit for user sentiment about the competitors in your market and reports what people actually say, so you can spot pain points, praise, and openings before they reach you any other way.
What it does
- Takes the market and works out which subreddits its users actually talk in
- Searches those threads for mentions of each competitor you named
- Judges every mention positive, negative or mixed, and notes what drove it
- Groups the mentions into recurring themes and flags what moved since the last scan
- Posts the report to your chat on the cadence you chose
What you get
- A recurring competitor sentiment report: What changed first, then the recurring themes, then the quieter signals - readable in a minute.
What it needs
- The market to watch
- The competitors whose reputation you care about
- How often it scans and reports
- The timezone the report lands in
Daily or weekly, whichever you choose
Who runs it
- Competitor Sentiment Monitor: Scans the subreddits where your market's users talk, judges what is said about each competitor, and groups it into themes rather than a flat list of mentions.
- Your chat: The report lands here on your cadence, in your timezone. Nothing is published anywhere else - the threads stay on Reddit, linked so you can check any of them yourself.
What stays yours
- Your market and competitors: You name the market and the competitors it tracks. It watches those and nothing else, and it will not invent a competitor you did not mention.
- Your cadence and timezone: You choose how often it scans and which hour the report lands in. Both are yours to change later.
- Your read on the truth: It is told never to fabricate a thread, a quote or a sentiment, and to label anything it could not verify - so a thin competitor is reported as thin, not padded.
Questions
- Where does it look?
- Reddit - the subreddits where your market's users talk. Those threads are the whole scope in this version. It does not read review sites, press or social networks.
- Does it read anything besides your named competitors?
- No. It searches for mentions of the competitors you gave it. Anything else it happens to see in those threads is context at most, never a tracked subject.
- What if one competitor has no Reddit presence?
- It says so plainly. The agent is told to report a thin signal as thin rather than pad the report with noise to fill a section.
- Can it make up a quote or a thread?
- No. Never fabricating a thread, a quote or a sentiment is a standing instruction, and anything it could not verify is labelled as unverified.
- How is the sentiment decided?
- Each mention is judged positive, negative or mixed, with the reason behind it recorded, so the report shows what people are unhappy about and how often that theme recurs - not just that they are unhappy.
- Does it tell me what changed?
- Yes. The report leads with shifts and flagged changes from the previous scan, then the recurring themes, then the quieter signals.
