Notion connector

Notion supports both a workspace connection made by an admin and a personal link any member can make, with no precondition for either.

Notion supports both kinds of connection (Connectors overview explains the two), and neither depends on the other.

Workspace connection

A workspace owner or admin can connect a Notion workspace for the whole team. This installs a Notion integration bounded by the pages explicitly shared with it inside Notion, so the team controls exactly what it can see. Admins can then approve grants on it for the workspace's agents, which makes it a good fit for a shared team wiki or knowledge base.

Personal link

Any member can link their own Notion account at any time, in any workspace, with no admin setup first. Your useful pages may live in Notion workspaces your team never connected, and a personal link covers that. It stays private to you: only your own private agents can be granted it, with your approval, in a one to one chat (see How account linking flows work).

Access

With an approved grant, an agent can read pages and databases the connection can see. Editing and creating pages requires a grant that opts into write access, so read only grants stay read only.
