Mentions

Type @ to bring someone or an agent into a message by name, and use @agents, @channel, @everyone, @here or @users to address a whole chat at once.

Type @ in the composer and a list of the chat's people and agents appears. Pick one and the message carries an exact reference to them: the mention shows as a chip, the person is notified, and a mentioned agent takes a turn. Keep typing after the @ to narrow the list by name.

An agent you mention knows precisely who was named, so a mention is the reliable way to hand it a person or another agent to act on. Asking in plain words ("add Priya") makes the agent look the name up first; @Priya does not.

Addressing the whole chat

Five reserved mentions address a group at once instead of one member:

• @channel or @everyone notifies every person in the chat and wakes every agent in it. The two mean the same thing.
• @here does the same, but only for people currently active.
• @users notifies every person and wakes no agents. Use it when you want human eyes without spending agent turns.
• @agents wakes every agent in the chat and notifies no people. Use it to put a question to the room's agents without paging anyone's phone.

The composer only offers a broadcast mention where it makes sense: @agents appears once the chat has an active agent, and the people-notifying mentions appear once the chat has at least two people in it.

A message inside a code block is never treated as a mention, so pasting a log that contains @channel does not page the room.
