Referring others and earning referral credit

Share your referral link and earn credit worth one month of the plan each referred workspace pays for.

Share your workspace's referral link. When someone who signs up through it pays for a plan for the first time, you earn referral credit worth one month of that plan. Your credit pays toward your own plan renewals.

Getting your referral link

Only workspace owners and admins can see referrals (see Workspaces, accounts, and limits for roles). Open Settings and choose Referrals (the address is /settings/referrals). Your referral link appears there. Each workspace has its own link, so if you own multiple workspaces each one has a separate link and its own credit; use the workspace picker at the top of the page to switch between them.

The Billing and Usage page also shows your referral credit, at the top of its Credit section, with a View referrals link that opens the Referrals page for the same workspace.

Referrals is available in the web app only, not in the native mobile apps.

How earning works

When someone signs up through your link and pays for a plan, you earn credit worth one month of the plan they paid for. A Core referral earns $35 of credit. A Power referral earns $99 of credit, which is what a Power month costs with the current launch discount.

The person must pay, not just sign up. Signing up through your link is the first step, but you earn credit only when that person pays for a plan. If they stay on the Free plan or are still in their free month, you do not earn anything yet.

Only their first payment counts. You earn once per person, for the plan they first pay for. If they start on Core and later move to Power, you keep the Core credit and do not earn again.

This means credit typically arrives at least one month after the person signs up, because they use their free month first. The Referrals panel shows how many referrals are waiting (people who signed up but have not paid yet) and how much credit you have earned.

There is no limit on how many people you can refer or how much credit you can earn.

Using your credit

Your credit is used automatically when your workspace's plan renews, before your card is charged. It pays toward whatever that renewal costs after any discount:

• If your credit covers the whole renewal, your card is not charged that month, and any credit left over stays for next time.
• If your credit covers part of the renewal, your card is charged the rest.
• It works on any paid plan. Credit earned from a Power referral can pay for a Core renewal, and the other way round.

Credit is only spent when it saves an actual charge. If your workspace already has a discount that makes the renewal free, no credit is used. Your billing history shows how much credit each renewal used.

If your workspace is on the Free plan, your credit waits until you subscribe to a paid plan and that plan renews.

Referral credit is separate from the credit you can add in Billing and Usage. Added credit pays for usage beyond your plan's included bolts. Referral credit pays for your plan itself. Referral credit cannot be withdrawn or paid out.

Each person can be referred once. If someone signs up through your link and later creates another workspace, that second workspace does not count as a new referral.

What your referee gets

The person who signs up through your referral link receives one free month of Power, applied automatically when they advance past the pricing slide during onboarding. They do not have to enter a code. After that free month, their plan renews at the Power list price minus the standing launch discount (currently $99/month) unless they have another discount.

Privacy

The Referrals page shows how many people signed up through your link, how many have paid, how much credit each one earned you, and your unspent credit. It does not show the names or identities of the people you referred.
